Case of missing Kansas City woman makes national news with televised plea by 10-year-old daughter
The disappearance of a Kansas City mother drew national attention Tuesday when a local television story was picked up by the Huffington Post.
Melissa Doyle, 40, disappeared six months ago, according to police. Her 10-year-old daughter Madison spoke with a local television station about it in a story that aired last week.
“It’s been tough, because she missed my 10th birthday and that’s double digits,” Madison told KMBC Channel 9.
Melissa Doyle has not been seen since she left her Northland home in the 2600 block of N.E. 47th Terrace about 11 a.m. on May 18. She reportedly told her family she was running an errand.
Melissa Doyle’s vehicle was found a week later, on May 26, abandoned in the parking lot of a park at Vivion and North Oak. Police said Melissa Doyle suffered from mental health problems.
Anyone with information about the case was asked to call police at 816-234-5136 or send e-mail to missingperson@kcpd.org.
