Eastbound I-435 at Antioch reopens after cement truck driver dies in rollover accident

The driver of a cement truck died Tuesday in a rollover accident in Overland Park, authorities said.

Overland Park police identified the victim as Joshua Martin, 26, of Kansas City, Kan. Medical personnel declared him dead at the scene.

The truck overturned about 11:20 a.m. in the eastbound lanes of Interstate 435 west of Antioch Road, according to Rick Breshears, Overland Park police public information officer.

The eastbound lanes of I-435 reopened by rush hour after being closed during the accident investigation.

A passenger in the truck was hospitalized with injuries considered not to be life-threatening.

Police continued to investigate the accident scene.
