Overland Park shooting victim identified

The victim of an apparent accidental shooting in Overland Park on Friday was identified Monday as Jacob Ruis.

Ruis, 23, of Overland Park, was fatally shot late Friday night inside an apartment in the 8900 block of Reeder Street, according to Overland Park police.

Police said he was shot by someone he knew, but foul play was not suspected.

Detectives are continuing to investigate.
