Liberty man dies in fatal crash near Smithville
A 67-year-old Liberty man died Sunday evening in a collision with another vehicle near Smithville.
Charles L. Beery died in the crash that occurred about 6 p.m. at the intersection of Missouri 92 and Route DD in Clay County, according to the Missouri Highway Patrol.
Beery was headed south in a Ford 350 truck on Route DD when he failed to stop at a stop sign and collided with a 2004 Honda Civic driven by Evan C. Wilson, 18, of Kansas City, according to the highway patrol.
Beery was pronounced dead at the scene. An ambulance took Wilson to a hospital for treatment of serious injuries.
