Police investigating an Overland Park shooting death

Overland Park Police were investigating a shooting death just before midnight on Friday.

Police responded to an emergency call about 11:45 p.m regarding a person with a gunshot wound, in the 8900 block of Reeder in Overland Park.

When Police officers arrived, they found that person dead. Police said initial indications show this was an accidental shooting. But officers and Detectives are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the death.

Subjects on scene with the victim at the time of the incident are cooperating with the police.
