Vehicle plows into Fairway eatery during lunch hour

A 75-year-old woman was slightly injured when her vehicle crashed Friday into a Fairway restaurant during the lunch hour.

The incident happened about 12:45 p.m. at First Watch, 2800 W. 53rd St. The driver from Prairie Village experienced a medical emergency that caused her to momentarily pass out, according to Police Chief Mike Fleming.

No one inside the restaurant was injured. The driver was taken to a hospital by a family member after being examined by emergency crews.

The restaurant had significant damage.
