Billy Joel to return to Sprint Center in May

Music icon Billy Joel will return to Kansas City for a concert May 1, 2015, the Sprint Center announced Friday.

Tickets will go on sale to the public at 10 a.m. Friday.

Joel first appeared at the Sprint Center in December 2007. In February 2010, he appeared on a sold-out double bill with another music icon, Elton John.

Joel, who has sold more than 150 million albums, is a repeat Grammy award winner and the sixth-best-selling recording artist in history. He’s in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and recently received the Kennedy Center Honor.

A ticket presale will be available for American Express Card holders from 10 a.m. Monday to 10 p.m. Thursday, Sprint Center officials said.
