Warm weekend expected in Kansas City

Hold on, Kansas City, a break from cold weather is on the way.

A warm-up for the end of the work week and start of the weekend appears to be on track. Highs are expected to be the 50s on Friday and the low 60s by Saturday, according to the National Weather Service.

But first the Kansas City area will have to endure highs in the the 30s on Tuesday and Wednesday and near 40s on Thursday. There’s a chance of rain Wednesday morning into Thursday.

Highs are also expected to reach into the upper 50s on Sunday. The chance for rain returns for the end of the weekend into Monday, according to the National Weather Service.
