A rollover wreck killed the driver of a tractor-trailer early Monday on an Interstate 70 exit ramp in Kansas City.

The truck rolled as it left westbound I-70 and turned onto the ramp to southbound Interstate 435 about 4 a.m.

It appeared the vehicle was going too fast for the circular ramp, police said. It overturned onto the guardrail on the north side of the ramp. The driver was the only person inside and died at the scene. The trailer was loaded with dog food, according to police.

The identity of the driver has not been released.

Police closed the ramp to investigate and clear the wreckage. It remained closed through the morning rush hour.
