Rain, even severe thunderstorms, headed into KC Thursday

It says “November” on the calendar but the weather Thursday will feel more like late May.

The National Weather Service has issued severe thunderstorm watch for the Kansas City metro area until 8 tonight.

The NWS says to expect showers and high winds into the night.

A few thunderstorms late this afternoon and evening may be strong and gusty winds are possible. The chance for rain is 60 percent.

Look for a sunny day Friday, with a high near 57.

Cool, dry conditions are expected for the weekend, with partly cloudy skies and temperatures in the mid- to high-50s.
