Park University’s president becomes its chancellor

Park University’s board of trustees has named the school’s president, Michael H. Droge, to be its chancellor, a new position.

Droge has been president since 2009. He will take over as chancellor July 1.

Most colleges have a president or a chancellor; Park will have both. Trustees will appoint an interim president by July 1, and a committee will be appointed to search for a new president.

As chancellor, Droge will be seeking new academic partnerships for Park while promoting the school’s brand and reaching out to alumni. The president will handle everyday administrative operations for the Parkville campus and 39 other campuses across the country.

Droge arrived at Park University in 2002 and previously served as university provost and senior vice president.
