15 died in Missouri road accidents over holiday
Fifteen people died in road crashes in Missouri over the Thanksgiving period, the Missouri Highway Patrol said Monday. That is 36 percent higher than the 11 fatalities reported last year.
Nine of this year’s fatalities occurred in the Troop D territory of the patrol, based in Springfield.
Arrests for driving while intoxicated, however, dropped 34 percent from 139 last year to 92 this year.
The reporting period began at 6 p.m. Wednesday and ended at midnight Sunday.
