Police are trying to find the family of Jefferson.

The Wyandotte County Sheriff’s Office is seeking help finding the family of a 6-year-old boy dropped off Monday morning at a school in the Turner School District.

A sheriff’s office spokeswoman said the boy, whose name is Jefferson, told deputies that his brother dropped him off at his school bus stop.

When the bus didn’t arrive, the boy started crying and a man stopped and gave him a ride to his school, the boy told police.

School officials contacted authorities but they have been unable to contact the boy’s family.

The sheriff’s office said the boy told them he takes medicine, but didn’t know what kind or what it is for.

Anyone who can help is asked to call 913-573-2945.
