Man dies in Kansas City, Kan., traffic accident

A motorist died Friday in a traffic accident in western Kansas City, Kan., according to police.

Police were called to the accident shortly after 6 p.m. near 110th Street and Leavenworth Road, north of the Legends Outlets. Officers found a man’s body trapped under a vehicle.

The investigation suggested that the vehicle, a white, 1993 International utility truck, was traveling west on Leavenworth Road when the driver lost control. The truck left the road and overturned in a ditch.

Police did not release the man’s name as they awaited a positive identification and notification of family members.

The investigation is continuing.
