Pedestrian is struck and killed on KC interstate

A pedestrian was struck and killed on Interstate 70 in east Kansas City early Friday by a vehicle that left the scene before police arrived.

Police said the victim was walking in or across the westbound lanes of the interstate neat Pittman Road when he was struck.

Police were called to the scene about 2:15 a.m. Friday.
