Truman Medical Centers opens downtown outpatient center

Truman Medical Centers announced Wednesday the opening of the first freestanding outpatient specialty care and surgery center in downtown Kansas City.

University Health, a four-story facility on Charlotte Street, about two blocks north of Truman’s Hospital Hill campus, will offer 14 medical services, including orthopedic, eye and reconstructive surgery, as well as diagnostic imaging, women’s health care and pain management.

The outpatient center is a joint venture by Truman and Landmark Healthcare Facilities, a national developer of medical offices, clinics and laboratories. Landmark owns and manages the Charlotte Street building; Truman owns the land it is on. Most of the services at University Health will be provided by Truman’s medical staff, which serves as the faculty of the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Medicine.
