Mets fans can drone on all they want about the Big Apple, but they won’t have any cooler video than one shot using a drone by creative producer Griffin Davis and motion designer Michael Martin of the advertising and public relations firm Barkley.

Davis said Wednesday that when he and Martin saw a notice requesting that downtown businesses keep their lights on this week for the World Series, they thought, “This will look so cool at night, especially with all the blue lighting already going on. … It was the perfect opportunity to get some cool drone footage.”

So they scrambled Barkley’s drone for a serene cruise around downtown. They put their resulting half-minute panorama on Facebook, where it had been shared more than 14,000 times by Wednesday evening, with about 350,000 views.

“I think it caught on because it captures what so many people are feeling: ‘This is my city!’ And everyone’s so proud of their city right now.”
