One dead in Overland Park traffic accident

One person died Tuesday in a traffic accident near West 159th Street and Kenneth Road in Overland Park, police said.

The accident occurred about 1:40 p.m. when the driver of a car headed north on Kenneth Road lost control and the car collided with a southbound truck, police said.

Both drivers were taken to hospitals. One passenger died at the scene.

Overland Park police did not immediately release the names of anyone involved.
