Scattered showers and a thunderstorm or two are expected to move into the Kansas City area early Tuesday morning.

While the rain is expected to start ending during the evening hours, there’s still a chance of rain at the start of Game 1 of the World Series between the Kansas City Royals and New York Mets, according to hourly forecasts from the National Weather Service.

Rain from the remains of Hurricane Patricia will likely fall throughout much of the day Tuesday with as much as a half inch of rain expected across most of the Kansas City area.

Most of the precipitation will likely take the form of light showers — no severe weather is expected. However heavier bands of rain are possible, with heavier precipitation expected to fall along and east of U.S. 65, which cuts through Sedalia.

The rain is expect to start ending during the evening hours, clearing from west to east. The chance of rain is at 60 percent at 6 p.m. falling to 36 percent by 7 p.m., according to the hourly forecasts.

Temperatures on Tuesday are expected to reach the upper 50s. Game time temperatures will remain in the 50s.
