Apollo 13 flight director to speak about NASA rescue
Former NASA Flight Director Gene Kranz, who led the team that rescued three astronauts during the ill-fated Apollo 13 trip to the moon in 1970, will speak about his experiences in a public lecture in Kansas City on Nov. 5.
The 7 p.m. program, titled “Failure is not an Option,” will be at Unity Temple on the Plaza, 707 W. 47th St. It is part of the Linda Hall Library lecture series. The event is free but registration is required.
