It looks like the hours leading up to Game 1 of the World Series on Tuesday between the Kansas City Royals and the New York Mets will be a little on the soggy side.

Scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms are possible Tuesday morning and afternoon.

But by the time of the first pitch, which is just after 7 p.m., much of the showers and thunderstorms likely would have dissipated or pushed off to the east, according to the National Weather Service.

However, a slight chance of rain — about 20 percent — is expected to linger throughout the game. Fans headed to the game might want to bring rain gear, just in case.

On Tuesday, highs will likely reach the upper 50s to low 60s. The temperature around the start of the game should be in the mid- to upper 50s and remain in the 50s throughout the game.

In the Kansas City area on Monday, it will be a classic fall day, with highs reaching into the mid-60s. Overnight lows will likely be in the lower 40s.
