Kansas City police identify Smuggler’s Inn shooting victim

Police identified 41-year-old Ludy Cruz of Kansas City as the man killed early Sunday morning in a shooting at the parking lot of Smuggler’s Inn restaurant and bar off Interstate 435 south of the Missouri River.

Kansas City police were called to the scene and found Cruz dead from an apparent gunshot wound at about 2:30 a.m. Sunday. There are no suspects in custody and anyone with information is urged to call the TIPS Hotline at 816-474-8477.
