Pedestrian struck and killed by vehicle in Peculiar

A 25-year-old woman died after she was hit by a Jeep while walking on a road in Peculiar on Thursday morning, according to the Missouri Highway Patrol.

The incident occurred shortly after 7 a.m. near Peculiar Drive and Maple Avenue. A 2014 Jeep Compass headed north on Peculiar Drive struck Alexandra M. Ladd, who was on foot in the road, according to the patrol.

Ladd was transported to Belton Regional Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead.

The driver stopped and cooperated with authorities.
