Missouri Highway Patrol finds homemade fireworks during traffic stop on I-35

Two people pulled over along Interstate 35 on Thursday morning in Kansas City, North, were taken into custody for outstanding warrants. A Missouri Highway Patrol trooper also found homemade fireworks in the vehicle.

A Missouri Highway Patrol trooper found homemade fireworks in a vehicle during a traffic stop Thursday morning along Interstate 35 in Kansas City, North.

The trooper pulled the vehicle over about 11 a.m. on southbound I-35 just past Northeast Vivion Road. Two people were taken into custody for outstanding warrants.

Authorities temporarily closed the right lane of southbound I-35. The Highway Patrol requested help from the Kansas City Police Department’s bomb squad to evaluate the explosives.
