Mesh funeral procession to pass several Kansas City fire stations

The public is invited to honor fallen firefighter John Mesh as his funeral procession winds it way through Kansas City, including the Northeast area, on Wednesday afternoon.

The procession will leave about 12:30 p.m. from St. Mark’s Catholic Church at 3736 S. Lee’s Summit Road in Independence. It will travel travel along Interstate 70 to Kansas City where it will pass several fire stations on its way to Mount Olivet Cemetery at 7601 Blue Ridge Blvd.

Mesh and fellow firefighter Larry Leggio died Oct. 12 while battling a fire near Independence and Prospect avenues.
