Motorcyclist dies after rear-ending dump truck in Kansas City, Kan.

A motorcyclist in his late 60s died Monday evening when he rear-ended a dump truck in Kansas City, Kan.

Police responded to the crash about 5:25 p.m. near Kaw Drive and South 78th Street.

The motorcyclist was headed east on Kaw Draw when he collided with the dump truck, according to police. The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene from his injuries. The driver of the dump truck was uninjured.

Police were waiting to release the name of the crash victim until they could positively identify him and notify his family.

The Kansas City, Kan., Police Department’s Traffic Support Unit/Critical Collision Response Team continues to investigate the crash.
