Leggio funeral procession to pass several fire stations

The public has been invited to pay respects to fallen firefighter Larry Leggio as his funeral procession winds through Kansas City on Monday afternoon.

The procession will leave St. Patrick Catholic Parish at 1357 N.E. 42nd Terrace in Kansas City, North, about 12:30 p.m. and will pass several fire stations on its way to Mount Olivet Cemetery at 7601 Blue Ridge Blvd.

Motorists are advised to avoid southbound Bruce Watkins Drive from about 12:30 p.m. to 2 p.m., as the procession will close much of the roadway.

Leggio and fellow firefighter John Mesh died Oct. 12 while battling a fire near Independence and Prospect avenues.
