Police investigate shooting in Kansas City

Kansas City police are investigating a shooting that seriously injured a man Thursday morning.

The shooting occurred about 7:40 a.m. near East 53rd Street and Prospect Avenue.

A police officer apparently witnessed the shooting, in which the victim was shot in the back.
