Long-time food service director in Raymore-Peculiar schools fired over concerns of mishandled funds

The Raymore-Peculiar School District has fired its longtime food service director and notified Cass County prosecutors after the district investigated concerns of mishandled funds.

Colleen Johnston, who has directed food service in the district for more than 33 years, was fired Oct. 2.

In a statement Tuesday, the district said it had an outside auditor conduct an investigation and that those results involving an unspecified amount of mishandled funds have been delivered to law enforcement.
