Munday on Monday: Fizzled forecast

Impending snow! we’re duly told;

There’s more ahead than merely cold.

And lest we come to wintry harm,

We wisely heed this loud alarm:

The forecasts shout their warnings grim;

The older folks are staying in.

Precautions thus (of course) we took;

With shovels poised, we wait — but look!

Is that the snow I see on ground

Or just the salt that’s spread around?

No wonder all you hear is gripe;

The only thing that’s deep is hype!
