Slick roads cause minor accidents in Kansas City area
Slick roads caused several minor accidents Sunday in the Kansas City area.
At 8:30 a.m., the Kansas Highway Patrol was working between 10 and 12 minor accidents, most of them on Interstate 35. A few minor accidents were also reported on Kansas Highway 7.
The Missouri Highway Patrol was working eight accidents at 8:40 a.m., and Kansas City police were working six. Most involved vehicles sliding off roadways; none were serious.
Roads in Platte County were particularly icy overnight. At around 9 p.m. Saturday, a 28-year-old Overland Park woman suffered moderate injuries when her 2000 Toyota Corolla slid off southbound I-435 into a ditch. Northland roads were still slick at 6:30 a.m. Sunday, when a car rolled over on I-35 in Liberty. The car’s occupants were taken to a local hospital with injuries. I don’t know if minor, moderate or severe
There were three minor-injury accidents in Douglas County overnight, but none so far Sunday morning.
