Lost Independence man found safe in rural Jackson County
An 73-year-old Independence man who disappeared Wednesday morning was found safe in rural Jackson County, police said on Thursday.
Joe Grantham had been sought by police, who warned that he suffered from Alzheimer's disease and could be in danger.
Grantham had last been seen about 11:30 a.m. checking on a property at 2465 S Trail Ridge Ave. in Independence. He was driving a black 2006 Ford Fusion.
Independence police said Grantham was found near Roy Harra and Buckner Tarsney roads, south of Buckner in rural Jackson County. He was transported for medical attention and his family was notified.
