Man arrested after allegedly trying to hit Ruskin High School administrator with car

A fight between a female student and an adult male inside Ruskin High School on Wednesday led to a parking lot scare when the man allegedly tried to hit a school administrator with his car as he drove away from the scene.

The administrator was not harmed and police apprehended the man not far from the Hickman Mills school in south Kansas City, district spokeswoman Ruth Terrell said.

Two men had entered the school following security protocols, but school officials denied their request to see the female student because they were not related, Terrell said. But the student apparently was in the hallway and school officials could not keep them separated.

It was unclear what prompted the fight, but the district thinks the conflict started outside of school.
