No injuries reported in Kansas City General Mills carbon dioxide incident
No employees were sickened Wednesday during a carbon dioxide alert at the General Mills facility in Kansas City’s East Bottoms.
After a leak was stopped, Kansas City Fire Department hazmat team members monitored air quality levels before releasing the building back to its operators, said Battalion Chief James Garrett.
More than 100 employees evacuated the facility at 2917 Guinotte Ave.
A 1994 carbon dioxide leak at the facility killed one worker and sent eight employees to hospitals.
