Independence woman dies when she steps in front of tractor-trailer on I-70
A 25-year-old Independence woman died early Thursday when she walked out in front of a tractor-trailer on Interstate 70 in Blue Springs.
The Missouri Highway Patrol identified the woman as Caitlin M. Morgan.
A 2015 Freightliner headed west on I-70 hit Morgan as she walked in front of it shortly before 2 a.m. Thursday near Missouri 7.
She was pronounced dead at the scene.
