U.S. 69 over the Missouri River is temporarily closed

Crews have temporarily closed northbound and southbound lanes of U.S. 69 over the Missouri River.

The highway, which connects Platte and Wyandotte counties, will be closed from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday so bridge girders can be delivered and lifted into place.

The work is part of replacing the Platte Purchase and Fairfax bridges over the Missouri River. A new bridge is being built and is expected to be open in December 2016.
