Kansas woman critically injured in train accident

Police in Lenexa say a woman has been hospitalized in critical condition after being struck by a train.

Police say the woman was standing on the tracks Sunday night when the BNSF Railway train hit her. The train’s engineer called 911 to report the accident.

Fire crews had to use all-terrain vehicles to access the area to find the woman. Her identity hasn’t been released.

Railway and local authorities are investigating.
