Victim of Platte County I-29 motorcycle crash identified

A motorcyclist killed in a Thursday afternoon traffic crash in Platte County is identified as 41-year-old John P. Bledsoe of Huron, Kansas.

The Missouri Highway Patrol said Bledsoe was riding his 2000 Harley Davidson south on Interstate 29 near Interstate 435 about 1:30 p.m. Thursday when a mechanical problem caused the bike to start sliding.

The bike overturned and Bledsoe was thrown to the roadway where he was struck by another vehicle.

A passenger on the motorcycle was taken to a hospital with moderate injuries, according to the patrol.
