A red panda cub born at the Kansas City Zoo in June will make its public debut Thursday at 10:30 a.m.

The male cub was named Fei Jai (Fay-Jay) and weighs a little more than 4 pounds. Red pandas grow to the size of a large house cat. The cub has just begun to eat bamboo.

The red panda exhibit is in the Tiger Trail section of the zoo. Keepers will discuss the animals at 10 a.m. and noon on Saturday.
