Man charged with killing, dismembering woman whose remains were found near Sedalia
Authorities say a man confessed to detectives that he killed and dismembered a woman whose body parts were found in and around his trailer home near Sedalia.
A Pettis County grand jury on Tuesday indicted Joseph Arbeiter, 65, on charges of first-degree murder and armed criminal action. Arbeiter remained jailed without bond.
The remains of Mandy Black, 35, of Marshall, were discovered last week at the trailer park where Arbeiter lives. Maintenance workers found two arms in a metal box while cleaning out Arbeiter’s trailer because he was jailed on unrelated assault charges. Other body parts were found buried.
According to court documents, Arbeiter told investigators he killed Black early this year.
