Lee’s Summit man killed in southern Missouri traffic crash

A Lee’s Summit man was killed Thursday morning in a traffic crash near Humansville in southern Missouri.

Martin R. Edwards, 61, died after the 2011 Ford van he was driving ran a stop sign at Route N, in Cedar County, five miles west of Humansville, shortly after 5 a.m., according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

The van collided with a 2000 Ford F-250 truck driven by Shawn M. Moore, 35, of Humansville.

Moore was wearing his seatbelt and was injured, according to the patrol. Edwards was not wearing a seatbelt.
