Gladstone man dies, three injured in motorcycle crash north of Lawrence
A 47-year-old Gladstone man died Saturday evening when he collided with a group of motorcyclists on a curve along U.S. 24 north of Lawrence.
Todd Stevenson, who was riding a 2010 Harley-Davidson motorcycle, was headed west on U.S. 24 about 5 p.m. when he attempted to pass on a curve and collided with a group of motorcyclists, according to a preliminary crash report by the Kansas Highway Patrol.
Stevenson, who was not wearing a helmet, was taken to a hospital were he died, according to crash report.
One of the motorcyclists involved in the crash, Garrett Dougherty, 42, of Lenexa, was taken to a hospital with unspecified injuries. He was not wearing a helmet, according to the Kansas Highway Patrol.
Two other riders, who were riding together on one motorcycle, were treated at a hospital and released. Only the passenger was wearing a helmet.
