Sedalia remains identified as Marshall, Mo., woman

The remains discovered Sunday near Sedalia were identified as those of 35-year-old Mandy M. Black of Marshall, Mo.

The Pettis County Sheriff’s Department said Friday the identification was confirmed by tattoos found on the victim. The case is now considered a homicide. Sheriff Kevin Bond said it is believed the woman died near the beginning of the year.

The remains were discovered outside a residence at the Goodwill Chapel Trailer Park and in a nearby wooded area.

The case remains under investigation. Anyone with information is asked to call the Pettis County Tips hotline at 660-827-TIPS (8477).
