I-435 bridge repair work to begin Monday in Lenexa

A project to repair the Interstate 435 bridges over 87th Street in Lenexa will get underway next week.

At about 9 a.m. Monday, northbound I-435 will be reduced to two lanes and about the same time Tuesday, southbound I-435 will be reduced to two lanes so that crews can repair joints and abutments as well as overlay the bridges’ decks with concrete.

The closures will remain in place until the project is completed, which should be in late August, weather permitting.

The $1.5 million project will also require speed limits to be restricted to 60 mph in the work zone.
