KC Zoo to introduce more penguins
Thirteen additional penguins will waddle onto exhibit Friday at the Kansas City Zoo.
Nine gentoos — the fast ones — and four kings — the big ones — will be introduced to the large pool at the Helzberg Penguin Plaza at 9:30 a.m. They have been in quarantine since arriving from Seaworld San Antonio.
The cold climate penguin population is now at 50 with 34 gentoos, 12 kings and four rockhoppers. There are also 11 temperate climate Humboldts.
