Suspect in fatal shooting of Missouri Southern State University coach out of jail

A man charged in the shooting death of a Missouri Southern State University assistant football coach has been released from jail.

The Joplin Globe reports 40-year-old Jeffrey Bruner posted $100,000 bond Wednesday and was released from the Jasper County Jail in Carthage.

Bruner was released after a judge ruled Monday that his bail could be reduced from $1 million cash-only to 10 percent of that bond.

He is charged with first-degree murder and armed criminal action in the Nov. 1 death of Derek Moore.

Bruner will be required to live with his parents in Greene County and wear an electronic ankle monitor. He also cannot have contact with his estranged wife or be on the Missouri Southern campus.
