KC police ID man shot to death in apartment Sunday as a Sudanese immigrant

Kansas City police on Wednesday identified a man shot to death in an apartment Sunday in the Northeast area as Alfadil B. Sabil, 38.

Officers were called to the apartment in the 100 block of North White Avenue about 10:20 p.m., where they found Sabil suffering from gunshot wounds. He later died at a hospital.

Homicide detectives released no motive or suspect information.

Sabil legally immigrated to the United States from Sudan about five years ago, police said. He had been staying with friends in the apartment. He did not have a job, police said.
