Free lectures during Union Station centennial

Local historians will give free lectures Saturday during the centennial celebration at Union Station. The talks are in the Greater Kansas City Chamber of Commerce board room on the east side of the Grand Hall. Seating is limited.

The schedule: Union Station history at 11 a.m. The Fred Harvey story at noon. World War I and Union Station at 1 p.m. Union Station renovation at 2 p.m. Union Station shoe shiners at 3 p.m. African-American porters at 4 p.m.

The lectures will be webcast at unionstation.org/webcasts and will be posted later on YouTube.
