Missing mother and young daughter found safe

Kansas City police have located a woman and her 10-month-old daughter who had been missing since Wednesday morning. Both were at a local hospital in good health, police said.

Family members last saw Nicole J. Nelson, 26, and her daughter, Deajahnay Nelson, at their home at 62nd Street and Walrond Avenue.

Nelson has a brain injury that can diminish her mental capacity. She also has an internal pump for medication. She and her daughter live with family, who did not realize they had left. Nicole was not to take the baby out by herself. Family members had searched all the places they thought Nelson might have gone.
