Armed robbers hit Missouri nursing home
Police say two masked men armed with a gun were likely looking for prescription drugs when they burst into a southeast Missouri nursing home.
The Southeast Missourian reports that the break-in took place on April 14 at the River Oaks Nursing Center in Steele. Nursing home workers told police the men ordered them into a bathroom and then rifled through an employee’s purse but didn’t take anything.
Steele police chief Billy Joe Stanfield said that one of the nurses was assaulted, receiving a minor injury.
Steele is in the far southeast corner of Missouri.
